The Vinyl Countdown started in April 2020 during the first lockdown when our Co Founder Spencer Vinten aka DJ Spellman, decided to dust off his vinyl and mix live on Facebook.

 

Friends and fellow 90s ravers started watching and reminiscing the good old days aswell as sharing their lockdown struggles.

After such a positive response, Stacey contacted his fellow Vinyl loving friends and suggested they all take part. Joel Martin (DJ Spitroast), Steven Germain (DJ Stevie C), Mark Beer (DJ Beery) And Mick Bailey (DJ Micky Cologne) soon filled the Facebook airwaves with music.

Debbie Fallis (DJ Debora V) joined the team and we began streaming to the groups Mixcloud page in February 2021. The chatroom gave music lovers an opportunity to connect during such difficult unprecedented times.

The group quickly grew with DJs joining to stream from across the world playing all things house, rave, reggae, soul, funk. When lockdown ended, we organised our first group celebration at the Duke of Marlborough in August 2021. Our listeners came together to party and thank the DJs for getting them through tough times.

We continue to arrange free live music events and continue to entertain our listeners with our weekly live streams.
